Venture into Sri Lanka’s celebrated wilderness on a guided jeep safari. Explore rugged landscapes and look for elusive leopards, elephants, crocodiles and a remarkable variety of birds and other wildlife.
Experience Yala’s distinctive mix of dry forest, open scrubland, lagoons and coastal scenery while searching for wildlife with an experienced safari team.
Yala is known for its leopard habitat, and a safari offers the chance to search for these elusive big cats as they move through the scrub and woodland. Sightings are never guaranteed, so enjoy the wider wildlife experience too.
Keep watch for Sri Lankan elephants, spotted deer, wild boar, monkeys and other mammals. Each safari is different, with sightings depending on season, weather and animal movements.
Yala’s habitats support a wide variety of birds and reptiles. Look for waterbirds near lagoons and wetlands, birds of prey overhead and, where conditions allow, crocodiles basking near the water.
Travel through a changing landscape of dry-zone forest, rocky outcrops, open scrub and lagoon edges. The scenery is a memorable part of the experience, even between wildlife sightings.
Explore by safari jeep with an experienced local team who can help identify wildlife and explain the park’s natural environment. The park block, departure time, safari duration and transport arrangements should be confirmed when booking.
Send your preferred date, group size and pickup location. Our team will help you enquire about your Yala Safari Day Tour.
