Arrival in Sri Lanka and Transfer to Negombo

Our representative will welcome you at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport and assist with basic arrival arrangements, including currency exchange and purchasing a local data or voice SIM card.

Transfer to your hotel in Negombo, approximately 15 minutes from the airport. This nearby beach town is a convenient place to unwind after a long flight.

Galle, the Historic Southern Coast

After breakfast, travel south towards Galle. If you are interested, make an optional visit to Lunuganga Country Estate, associated with renowned Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa.

• Explore Galle city and the famous Old Dutch Fort
• Visit the lighthouse and nearby beaches
• Optional turtle hatchery visit and stilt-fishermen stop, depending on route and conditions
• Continue towards Deniyaya or Neluwa for a stay near Sinharaja Rainforest

Trekking in Sinharaja Rainforest

After breakfast, walk into Sinharaja Rainforest with a local guide. The trekking distance and duration can be adjusted to your preferences and fitness level.

• River bathing or waterfall bathing may be possible where safe and permitted
• In the afternoon, travel towards Udawalawe

Wildlife Adventure at Udawalawe

Set out early for a safari at Udawalawe National Park, usually from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM, with an off-road safari jeep arranged for your group. Return to the hotel to relax after the game drive.

• Optional excursion to Diyaluma Falls and a walk to Upper Diyaluma, depending on time and conditions

Scenic Train Journey and Explore the Hill Country

After breakfast, take the scenic train journey towards Nuwara Eliya, with reserved seats planned subject to railway schedule and availability. Your chauffeur will travel separately with the car and luggage.

• Planned train departure around 9:30 AM
• Meet your chauffeur around 12:30 PM and explore Nuwara Eliya, including the Old Post Office
• Visit tea estates and tea factories
• See St. Clair’s Falls and Devon Falls, subject to route and timing
• Continue to Hatton, a green hill-country town with a cool climate

Rafting and Outdoor Activities in Kitulgala

Enjoy a relaxed morning at your hotel in Hatton before travelling to Kitulgala for white-water rafting and other outdoor activities.

• Attend the Kandy cultural show, usually from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Dambulla Cave Temple and Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Travel towards Dambulla, stopping at Nalanda Gedige, an ancient Buddhist temple, and a spice garden in Matale along the way.

• In the evening, climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress for sunset, subject to entry hours and weather

Polonnaruwa and Transfer to the Beach Holiday

After breakfast, travel to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, the second kingdom of Sri Lanka, and explore its historic ruins. Continue to the eastern coast for the start of your beach holiday.

• Transfer to your chosen eastern beach destination
• Choose from Pasikudah, Nilaveli or Trincomalee

Enjoy a full day at leisure or select an optional experience such as whale watching, dolphin watching, scuba diving or a boat trip. Availability depends on the chosen location, season, weather and operator schedules.

A Final Day on the Eastern Coast

Enjoy your final full day by the beach. Relax at the hotel, swim when conditions are suitable or enjoy another optional activity before preparing for the journey to Colombo the following day.

Travel to Colombo and Explore the City

In the afternoon, begin the drive to Colombo and check in to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, enjoy an evening city visit.

• Visit One Galle Face or Galle Face Green, time permitting

Colombo City Tour and Airport Transfer

Plan the day around your return flight. If your flight is in the evening, enjoy morning sightseeing before transferring to Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport. The drive is estimated at around 40 minutes from Colombo, but allow extra time for traffic.
